That's what I feel like saying at cookouts and social functions when concerned parents bombard me with dental questions!

I'm a Dentist and a Mommy. I live in the burbs and try to enjoy the normal life of a mother of two young kids...karate practice, birthday parties, T-Ball, and the occasional backyard get-together in the neighborhood. But someone ALWAYS ruins the party.

Whenever someone finds out that I'm a dentist, they immediately start asking questions about their chidren's teeth. Don't get me wrong...I love my job. I love being able to educate people about their dental health. I even enjoy teaching it (I am a professor at the Dental College in Richmond). But there comes a time when I just want to socialize, enjoy some food from the grill, sip on a frosty amber beverage.  And NOT stare down someone's mouth or talk about teeth.

So...I wrote this book.

At the recommendation of a friend, I started listing out all the questions that parents ask me at birthday parties, barbeques, and in the hallways at church. Then I started expanding the list to include the questions I hear frequently in the office of my dental practice. I kept adding questions until I had a complete list of  dental questions that people frequently asked me. Then, I started to answer them in a funny, simple and informative way. Questions like:

• Can breast feeding cause tooth decay in my baby?
